Block Harbor Cybersecurity was founded in 2014 around security at the intersection of the cyber and physical worlds, where cybersecurity can influence safety. We are a managed cybersecurity solution provider for the automotive industry. Our mission is to build great solutions in automotive cybersecurity to keep mobility safe.

One of the most critical aspects of vehicle cybersecurity is ensuring controls are implemented as they were designed. At Block Harbor, we’re relentlessly focused on ensuring testing is effective and efficient through automation – it makes vehicles safer and lets us all focus on what we’re interested in. As a Vehicle Cybersecurity Test Lead, you’re ready to take on the critical role of testing to ensure vehicle cybersecurity. From functional testing (e.g. making sure a vehicle system is meeting its requirements) to penetration testing to fuzz testing, your role will be to execute that testing in components, systems, and full vehicle environments. You’ll not only use our tools in our vehicle cybersecurity labs to perform testing, but you will also provide critical feedback into the development of those tools. Experience & Qualifications

  • Thought leader in the space of automotive security.

One of the most critical aspects of vehicle cybersecurity is ensuring controls are implemented as they were designed. At Block Harbor, we’re relentlessly focused on ensuring testing is effective and efficient through automation – it makes vehicles safer and lets us all focus on what we’re interested in. As a Vehicle Cybersecurity Tester I, you’re ready to take on the critical role of testing to ensure vehicle cybersecurity. From functional testing (e.g. making sure a vehicle system is meeting its requirements) to penetration testing to fuzz testing, your role will be to execute that testing in components, systems, and full vehicle environments. You’ll not only use our tools in our vehicle cybersecurity labs to perform testing, but you will also provide critical feedback into the development of those tools. Vehicle Cybersecurity Testers are experts in our lab spaces and how to use them. You will build new vehicle cybersecurity labs at customer locations around the globe and build component and system level vehicle test benches to support our mission for testing vehicles to make them safer. In this technical, problem-solving role, you must be prepared to dive into the details, research new technologies, learn new tools, write code, and setup embedded systems. Then, you must be able to identify cybersecurity flaws or non-conformance and communicate those findings clearly and effectively through writing reports.

Duties

You’ll have to:

  • Be able to design and build technical prototypes of products and services that solve challenges in the automotive cybersecurity.

  • Work on a team of testers in execution of Block Harbor’s 6 step penetration testing process.

  • Work cross-functionally with business development to pair software/solution requirements with customer need.

  • Act as a thought partner to clients in finding ways to move faster and drive greater impact.

  • Make recommendations on the best equipment for vehicle testing and travel to customer sites to build new lab environments for testing.

  • Excel at listening to current and future customers to understand true market need.

  • Perform necessary research to understand optimal technical solutions as to prevent technical debt (do the job right the first time).
