Automotive cybersecurity is a young industry with technical and business challenges that have not yet been overcome. Block Harbor seeks to design and build solutions to make securing cars easier. As a vehicle security analyst, you will be performing technical work with our customers to ensure their systems stay safe from a design perspective. This role ranges from perform threat analysis and risk assessments (TARAs) for vehicle systems to managing vulnerabilities in a customer’s environment. In this technical role, you must be prepared to dive into the details, research new technologies, write code, and setup embedded systems. Further, this position may require you to work closely with our customers to ensure solutions are addressing their real-world problems.
Duties
You’ll have to:

Perform analyses and generate clear, thoughtful reports.

Work within a customer’s processes to ensure deliverables are met in a timely and professional manner.

Lead cross-functional teams in analyzing customer systems to pair system/solution requirements with customer needs.

Act as a thought partner to clients in finding ways to move faster and drive greater impact.

Excel at listening to current and future customers to understand true market need.

Perform necessary research to understand optimal technical solutions as to prevent technical debt (do the job right the first time).

Take ownership of a project’s execution, from beginning to end, including managing your own timelines.

Collaborate in a team performing TARAs for customers.

Tracking and communicating complex tasks to direct technical stakeholders and management.

Arranging and presenting deliverables to customers and 3rd party contributors.
Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field OR relevant industry-certifications OR ability to demonstrate independently pursued capabilities (e.g. founder, researcher, etc.).

2+ years experience in Network security, embedded system security OR software security.

Basic experience in Project Management including organizing technical people in a close-knit team of specialized areas.

Awareness with common threat modeling tools, especially ones that are focused on threat modeling in automotive/focused on ISO/SAE 21434.

Have an understanding in threat modeling applied in a project or operations (e.g. STRIDE, CVSS, attack trees, PASTA).

Knowledge of relevant industry standards & regulations (e.g. ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29) and understanding of their impact on the automotive industry.

Participation in the space of automotive security such as attendance of Automotive Security conferences, published works and participation in working groups.

Eagerness to learn and develop one’s skills independently.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

A working understanding in one of more of the following automotive technologies: CAN, WiFi, Bluetooth, Automotive Ethernet, V2X, USB, FlexRay, etc.

A working understanding in risk-driven cybersecurity methodologies.
